Christmas 2010

They're so silly. Every year I need to go back through the previous Christmas letters to change the link at the bottom. I need to add the new year, and archive the previous year's to the right place. I can't help but re-reading each letter as I make the minor edit. It's an interesting retrospective of time. As I go through 14 years in a few minutes it is rather, well... overwhelming.

It's great to have everyone back at home for the holidays. The last time was over the summer and it didn't last long. The good news is that the kids are still a bit "silly". We do miss them, even though technology makes it easy to stay in touch.

Anna finished her Masters program in Anthropology at the University College of London (with distinction.) While in school she got a job at the Bloomsbury Theatre and she continues to work there as well as working at the Museum of London. She's back to London in January.

Eva just got home from a semester abroad in Wellington, New Zealand. She kept a detailed blog of all her exploits and it really was an amazing trip. Eva made all kinds of cool artwork and produced/edited a film (click to play below). She's back now until the next semester starts at TCNJ, working on her portfolio and her design jobs at college in the interim.

Maria got all A's this semester at Purchase where she studies Graphic Arts. There is always some awesome project in progress.

We are truly blessed to have such talented and creative kids. I think we'll be able to open an art gallery after they all graduate from school.

We did another series in our "epic road trips" this summer. Although Anna and Eva didn't come they were with us in spirit. We shipped 100 pounds of camping gear to Helena, Montana, then rented an SUV and spent two weeks driving around the Northwest. (Week 1 and Week 2)
We visited Yellowstone and the mountains of the Cascade range and flew home from Seattle, Washington. It was a great trip and we seemed to time it perfectly, escaping the hottest weather in New Jersey during August.

Monika and I had our 25th wedding anniversary this year. We are lucky because we have not one, but two anniversary dates. For the second one we took a trip to New Hampshire to enjoy the foliage a few weeks before the rest of New Jersey did.

This winter has been a bit interesting in that I had surgery to remove a nasty growth on my Pancreas. They sent in a robot and the doctors think I'll not need any more work done. I'm back to work already and feeling fine so I tend to believe them. I'll get checkups from time to time to be sure. Something like this makes me appreciate life all the more. As the saying goes: If you have a problem that money can solve, then you have no problems.

Happy Holidays and may you have a joyous and prosperous new year!
