Christmas 2011

Almost 2012. I hope the Mayans are wrong, because even though we saw and did so much this year, there is so much more to do and see. Just one more year wouldn't be enough.

Anna finished her Masters program in Anthropology at the University College London last year, but she and her boyfriend Mike had to wait until this year to enjoy their graduation ceremony.

Anna is gainfully employed by a couple of London museums and recently she and her colleague designed and created an exhibit at the Royal Veterinary College. Her Royal Highness Princess Anne opened The Royal Veterinary College's new Teaching and Research Centre where the exhibit is now on permanent display.

Eva is in her Senior year at TCNJ. She has a whole string of part time jobs doing work close to her major - Graphic Arts. She spent this summer at Toys R Us working on catalog related projects. If you are getting flyers from Toys R Us, it's partially her summer work you are looking at.

Eva has a website now and is getting ready to get more involved in a professional work. She is going to spend next semester doing an internship with a graphic design company. She has also completed a film for her class.

Maria is now abroad as well, finishing a semester at the Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden studying Graphic Design, learning history of Scandinavian art and working on some pretty amazing projects.

She will be home in few weeks after her studies and some travels around Northern Europe come to an end. She and Anna are spending Christmas in Vienna, Austria visiting Monika's brother and his family. Grandma Lotko is also there and has a chance to enjoy house full of grandchildren.

We did another epic road trip this late summer. We flew to Los Angeles and drove the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco. Since Eva had to finish her Toys R Us gig and Maria was off to Sweden, they didn't join us this year. Instead we had the pleasure of having Anna and Mike along for the ride!

We were there during the early part of September, so we missed the crowds at the beaches and at Yosemite, which was truly beautiful. We did some hiking and had a great time with never a rainy day. You can see all the pictures here.

We are lucky to have great kids, good jobs and good health. With all the uncertainty in the world, it is great to be with family. We hope that all of you can share in a good fortune and will have a joyous and prosperous New Year!
